Australian National Maritime Museum

PIVOD’s first installation of SHOWCASE for the Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) was for the Watermarks gallery. This gallery is designed to tell stories of aquatic adventure and achievement - individuals testing themselves against the sea in all sorts of ways, from marathon swims to perilous solo voyages.

Since then many of the galleries at ANMM use SHOWCASE, one of the most spectacular displays is the ANZ Tall Gallery. This gallery holds one of Australia's best-known yachts - Kay Cottee's First Lady - which dominates the 34-metre-high ceiling room. Kay Cottee was the first female sailor to perform a single-handed, non-stop circumnavigation of the world.

The Watermarks gallery incorporates 8 video streams and 6 audio streams all driven by SHOWCASE. The PIVOD system also controls, monitors and manages all of the equipment within the gallery including lighting, display devices and audio devices.

In addition to this, PIVOD has also installed a production rack in ANMM capable of producing content for the SHOWCASE system, as well as allowing real-time live MPEG encoding and streaming.
