SHOWCASE in Educational Venues  

PIVOD Technologies’ SHOWCASE provides the core digital media storage, content management, scheduling, show control and playback solutions for the Ontario Science Centre’s Weston Family Innovation Centre.  The cornerstone of the Innovation Centre is the Hot Zone - an experience area dedicated to the latest developments in science and technology.

PIVOD developed and installed the SHOWCASE solution which allows digital media content to be managed for each of the ten unique experiences.  Bilingual (English and French) interfaces are provided for visitors and staff to input content for each exhibit.  All content is accessible through the Science Centre’s website, in real time.

PIVOD’s technology integrates digital asset and venue management systems, authoring systems, hardware and software, show control, management and monitoring of equipment and digital media content streams.  PIVOD’s SHOWCASE enables the delivery of content to the exhibition floor over a TCP/IP network in a flexible and scalable manner to meet the growing needs of the Centre.  It allows for visitor input onsite, or through the internet, intranet, or extranet.

Planned expansion of the Centre includes four additional experience areas designed to help visitors explore and develop attitudes, skills and behaviors needed to become innovators.
