Customs House
SHOWCASE in Cultural Venues
One of Sydney’s finest heritage buildings, it has been refurbished and transformed into a dynamic new cultural destination. Customs House required a reliable, robust and cost effective solution for displaying integrated multimedia content including rich video, audio and interactive digital media, to multiple screens.
PIVOD’s SHOWCASE was used to enable staff to easily manage, schedule and display this electronic media. Screens are also used for the display of digital artworks and public information. The entire system can expand and evolve as required by advances in technology.
Customs House’s Projection System, located at the end of the ground floor was also integrated into the SHOWCASE system. Media displayed both through the Projection System and the Information Wall is managed from the same user interface. The flexibility of the SHOWCASE platform enables the infrastructure initially installed at Customs House to be updated as necessary to accommodate future developments.
SHOWCASE draws together all of the individual components of the audio visual system at Customs House and integrates them into a unified management system. Whilst many hardware components of the system are generic in nature making maintenance straightforward, the combination of the hardware and SHOWCASE makes it a unique solution.
The Information Wall at Customs House is controlled through SHOWCASE’s multiplayer, an element of the platform. The capability of this system allows users to manually playback different media onto every screen via the multiplayer, or to playback the same media to a number of screens creating themes for the wall via the matrix switcher. SHOWCASE allows scheduling and automated powering up and down of displays.
